FISHING AT PRIORY MARINA.

You may fish from your houseboat subject
to local conditions and obtaining permission from reception.
Permission may be withdrawn at any time.
In the country park there is an information center and nature reserve, day fishing is available and permits can be obtained from the Warden's office.
The fishing on the lake is course fishing and species of fish include,
- Brean
- Carp
- Cat Fish
- Roach
- Tench.
You will need a
National Rod Licence which can be bought to cover short
periods from most Post Offices. Bring your own tackle as
hiring is not always a practical proposition.
Please return
all fish to the water unharmed.
Note that most canal banks are leased to Angling Clubs thus
denying fishing opportunities to offcomers
Wildlife
If you walk or cycle along the canals,
you will find yourselves close to a rich landscape of woods,
water, meadows, fields and farmland and you can expect to
see the wide varieties of the flora and fauna native to
the British Isles.

Consider buying one of the many handbooks
available and, if you have a pair of binoculars, bring them
too. Remember though, it is illegal to pick wildflowers
or disturb nesting birds or other animals

There is a wildlife riverside trail around the country park where you may see such birds as:
- Heron
- Coot
- Moor Hen
- Mallard Ducks
- Grebe
- Cormorants
- Canada Geese
- Mute Swans
- Woodpeckers
The flora and new meadows are a haven for:
- Butterflies
- Dragon Flies
- Beetles
